Onshape usage limits

DXF Exporter analyses your model through Onshape. Each validation and generation step uses your Onshape account's processing limit; it is not a separate DXF Exporter quota. When that limit is reached, analysis pauses until Onshape resets it.

A DXF Exporter subscription controls whether you can download a finished package. It does not increase your Onshape processing limit.

Professional, Free, and Education accounts

Onshape sets the processing limit by account type.

Professional and enterprise accounts have a much higher limit. Pauses are uncommon in normal use.

Free and Education accounts have a stricter limit from Onshape. That is where pauses show up most often: models with many parts, assemblies with many source documents, or running validation and generation many times in a session.

The limit is Onshape policy and can change. DXF Exporter does not publish fixed counts.

When the app pauses

You'll see Onshape usage limit reached, with an approximate wait time when Onshape provides one. Retry stays disabled until the limit clears; running the check again would not succeed. Wait times are set by Onshape; pauses of at least 24 hours are possible on some account types, and that policy can change.

If you are paused:

• Wait and retry when the app allows it.
• Run validation and generation when you need output; each step counts against your processing limit.
