Changelog
Release notes for DXF Exporter — new features, fixes, and changes by product version.
0.5.38 September 2026
Added
- Failed parts stay visible after export - Parts that fail during generation remain in the results table, summary, and export report instead of only in a dismissible toast.
Fixed
- Conic fillets that previously blocked export - Those edges are approximated so parts with that fillet type can download instead of failing.
- Back-face edge fillets treated as double-sided - Perimeter rounds on the export face are no longer classed as ball-cuts, which could shrink cut geometry unsafely.
- Rigid and loose assembly inserts keep distinct names - The same part inserted both ways stays two rows with the correct prefix.
0.5.23 September 2026
Changed
- Legal acceptance and product updates at sign-in - Review Terms, Privacy, and product-update preferences in a short post-sign-in wizard instead of at download time, so consent stays separate from checkout.
Fixed
- Clearer failures when Onshape usage limits or the network drop out - Validation and generation stop with a clear message instead of hanging or looking stuck. See Onshape usage limits.
- Assembly sketches no longer appear in export names - USER prefixes use the rigid Part Studio insert, not an assembly sketch (or other non-container feature) that happened to sit first in the tree.
0.5.125 August 2026
Added
- Imperial units for material thicknesses - Table labels and download folders follow the Onshape workspace unit, or click (mm) / (in) next to Thickness/Material to switch. DXF geometry stays in millimetres. See Materials and thicknesses.
0.5.05 August 2026
Added
- Grain direction and face orientation - The new DXF Material Prep custom feature sets grain direction, previews effective back faces, and flips front/back orientation for directional stock.
Fixed
- Validate, generate, and download buttons show loading state - They disable and show a spinner as soon as you click, so cold starts no longer look stuck or accept double-clicks.
0.4.023 July 2026
Added
- Flattened sheet metal exports - Onshape sheet metal parts export from the unfolded flat-pattern body as a through-cut 2D profile, including from assemblies. See Sheet metal flat pattern exports.
Fixed
- Tiny near-linear arcs no longer abort export - Those edges export as straight lines so the rest of the part can still download.
